UPMC is looking for a OP Nurse Coordinator to join our Outpatient Adult Autism and Developmental Disorders clinic.This position will work in the Oxford building in Oakland, Monday – Friday 9 to 5pm, with potential for occasional work from home.Position Purpose:
The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator, a Registered Nurse, is responsible for comprehensive patient care, using independent judgment and communication with patients, families, physicians, and community resources.
Responsibilities:
Professional Development: Improve quality of practice and patient care, participate in governance, and support change processes.
Team Collaboration: Engage fully with the care team, assist other disciplines, and demonstrate leadership.
Patient Care: Formulate care plans, triage situations, assist physicians, and provide holistic care.
Relationship Building: Maintain positive relationships, balance work and personal life, and communicate safety hazards.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement efforts, use evidence-based practices, and prepare for regulatory reviews.
Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate and voice within the practice.
Skills and Judgment: Exhibit clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Communication: Practice solid communication skills and comprehensive documentation.
Education: Teach patients, families, and new staff, and coordinate staff training.
Leadership: Support the development of new staff and create an environment of continuous improvement.
RN RequiredBSN preferredMinimum 3 years of nursing experience required.The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below. They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state. CPR Certification, UPMC approved national certification preferred. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire· Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)· Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)· Registered Nurse (RN)· Act 33 with renewal· Act 34 with renewal· Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewalCurrent licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
