UPMC Asbury Heights is hiring a Full-Time Manager, Health and Wellness!Experience working with the elderly/dementia population is required!Apply Today to Learn More!Responsibilities:

Plans and executes approved fitness programs for Asbury Heights employees.

Provide in-service training to staff and residents including but not limited to: proper equipment usage, benefits of exercise, proper body mechanics.

Direct the operations of the Fitness Center.

Plan and execute quarterly education programs for residents.

Abide by the established policies of the facility as well as state and federal regulations. Interpret same to concerned parties.

Ensure appropriate exercises are recommended to each resident who wants to participate in a Fitness Center exercise, or wellness program activity.

Familiar with facility's fire evacuation plan and disaster plan.

Maintain confidentiality.

Participate in in-service programs of the facility.

Recognize abnormal signs and symptoms which signify physical change in resident's condition that would require nursing intervention. Report changes to appropriate party.

Communicate with appropriate parties including medical director and clinical staff.

Properly maintain exercise equipment and supplies.

B.S. in related field.

1 year experience in wellness programs for elderly preferred.

Knowledge of the theory and practice of executing an elder exercise program required.

Skilled at providing quality interventions to meet the physical needs of the residents required.

Demonstrate a variety of interventions to achieve total wellness for interested residents with a variety of diagnoses and abilities required. Ability to give instructions to others and to lead.

Ability to exercise independent judgment required.

Demonstrate understanding of all levels of elders physical functioning and have an enthusiastic approach toward exercise and wellness.

Demonstrate having a positive disposition while working with a variety of people.

Maintain an effective working relationship with the residents, supervisors and staff.

Full body range of motion required.

Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination required.

Vision and hearing corrected to normal range is required.

Occasional lifts and carries of items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to be in a working environment that is heated and air conditioned and exposure to variable weather conditions when outdoors on the grounds of Asbury Heights.

Subject to moderate physical and emotional stress due to the normal office environment.

Possibly be exposed to dust and fumes. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR certification required within 90 days of employment
