University of PittsburghFaculty Assistant/Associate Professor of Pathology- Full-TimeRANK/TITLE:Assistant Professor (1-5 years of experience) or Associate Professor (6-10 years of experience) (appointment stream).DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:The University of Pittsburgh in the Division of Transplant Pathology, Department of Pathology and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Montefiore-University Hospital is seeking a pathologist, board certified in Anatomic Pathology, with specialty training and academic interest in Transplant Pathology. This Division is an integral part of the comprehensive transplant program at UPMC. The successful candidate will contribute to varied Divisional Diagnostic, research, and educational activities. The scope of this service encompasses the evaluation of post-transplant biopsies, liver, lung, heart, intestinal, and kidney disease in prospective transplantation candidates and the examination of native explanted organs.DESCRIPTION OF WORK:The position will be responsible for reporting on allograft and native liver, heart, and kidney biopsies.Academic development will focus on scientific areas related to clinical responsibilities.JOB DUTIES:Subspecialty sign-outParticipate in medical student and resident/fellow educational activitiesWillingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research, or other scholarly activities as may be required of clinical facultyQUALIFICATIONS:
M.D. degree
Residency training in Anatomic Pathology
American Board of Pathology certified
Subspecialty training (fellowship) preferred
Work Experience in transplant but not required
Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required
