In this position, you will oversee the clerks assigned to the Waterways and Wetlands and Safe Drinking Water Program. Your role will involve supporting these programs through various administrative tasks, including data entry, mail processing, and managing communications. Furthermore, you will conduct administrative reviews of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits, General Permit applications, and Safe Drinking Water Construction, Operation, and Water Allocation Permits. This necessitates a fundamental understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and guidance documents to effectively convey information to the public and regulated entities. You will ensure that all permit applications are complete with the necessary information and fees, coordinating with Program staff and other sections of the DEP. Acceptance of applications requires determining their type by checking logs for duplicates, assigning permit numbers, and forwarding reviewed applications to the Section Chief for further assignment.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.

Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1; or

One year as a Clerical Assistant 3; or

Two years of as a Clerical Assistant 2; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
