We want you to join our team!Overall PurposeUnder general supervision, this position provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing monthly financial statements. This position is responsible for monthly accounting close for the regulated business and certain non-regulated entities. Ensures compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures and supports Company-wide and finance initiatives.Responsibilities1. Assist with monthly accounting close, which includes preparing general ledger entries, analyzing and resolving discrepancies, making adjustments to ledger entries based on professional standards and internal policies and procedures and performing all other duties as assigned.2. Review, analyze and report on monthly financial results3. Perform ad hoc detailed analysis of accounts, as directed, including investigating and determining reasons for variances – both to budget and prior year.4. Review internal controls and propose amendments and enhancements to enhance operating best practices. Work with supervisor to the Finance policies and procedures manual, control documentation and related desk manuals.6. Research and problem solve questions regarding proper accounting treatment of transactions and assist in developing and implementing new accounting pronouncements.7. Assist with special projects on an as needed basis, including external government surveys, new system implementations and employee benefit plan reporting.Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, or equivalent field required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.

Skills/Abilities Utilized in this Role Include:

Proficient with accounting software (Solomon and/or Netsuite preferred) and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Solid written and verbal communication skills, ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to problem-solve.

Organized and able to prioritize.

Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working with others.
