Job Title: Material Handler (1st Shift)SUMMARY

Coordinate all functions of receiving, but also some shipping for plant operations. Ensure accountability, transparency, and effective communication cross-functionally and within the team while ensuring information is timely, clear, and accurate. Assist in pulling/staging goods for processing/shipment and the loading/unloading of trailers. They are to foster a team ownership culture that ensures compliance with all Corporate and Local policies, objectives, procedures, and regulations. Ensure standards are included on their day-to-day work (safety, quality, and associate relations). He/she must supply the highest level of both internal and external customer service within the workplace.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate deliveries, pick-ups/shipments, which include inter-plant transfers.

Maintain output and ensure quality while pulling and loading customer orders.

Prepare all necessary receiving paperwork.

Unload inbound shipments and transport to appropriate storage areas.

Ensure suitable conditions of product for each shipment.

Track work and adjust to meet changing requirements.

Assist with receiving items into the facility, and some shipping duties as needed.

Make sure what is needed for shipment each day is pulled and ready for shipment in advance.

Identify the proper loading/un-loading of freight.

Coordinate activities, including associate relations, 5S, productivity changes, quality, ensure safety, housekeeping, etc.

Establish workflow between associates, to optimize efficiency & productivity.

Performs additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.ABILITY TO

Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, Supervisors and Managements.

Work independently with little or no supervision and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram record data or schedule form.

Physically able to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment - manual dexterity, visual acuity, and speed.

Meet behaviors established in Company performance management and development process.

Effectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities.

Displays ability to work in highly productive, constantly changing environment.

Lifting and moving of rolls is necessary.

Forklift and Standing lift operating is required.

Properly load and secure freight for transport to our customers.

Effectively execute tasks.

Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to a changing environment.

Keep work area clean and tidy.

Project a strong, confident presence

The ability to guide and influence othersEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
