Waterjet Operator

Our Hatboro based client provides a variety of industries, including defense, with high-quality nonferrous metals in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Their product meets commercial military specifications and they are ISO 9001:2008, MIKL-I-454208A and EB2678L certified. They are seeking a Waterjet Operator to set up and program waterjet cutting jobs using CAD/CAM software as well as use other equipment.

Responsibilities

Prepare machine, fixtures, and tooling for production.

Load materials, secure fixturing, align references, and verify raw stock against job specs.

Run cuts, monitor process parameters (feed rate, pressure, abrasive flow), and adjust as needed to meet tolerances.

Inspect finished parts with standard measuring tools; document results and communicate any non-conformities.

Perform routine maintenance and die/ nozzle/abrasive changes; keep logs for uptime, consumables, and calibration.

Optimize part layouts to minimize waste and reduce cycle times; collaborate with team to improve processes.

Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with safety policies and PPE requirements.

Troubleshoot equipment issues; coordinate with maintenance for repairs.

Prepare documentation: job travelers, setup sheets, quality records, and change notices.

Assist with secondary operations (deburring, smoothing) and material handling as needed.

Provide on-the-job training to new operators and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Required qualifications:

Prior experience operating waterjet cutting systems or equivalent CNC/CAM experience.

Basic understanding of GD&T and reading blueprints.

Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good communication.

Preferred qualifications:

Certification or formal training in safe operation of high-pressure waterjet systems.

Experience with Flow/OMAX/KMT waterjets and CAD/CAM software.

Knowledge of material types and their compatibility with waterjet cutting.

In addition, employee will be required to operate Marvel Saw, Casto bar saw & Shear as required.

Compensation: 28-34/hr, Benefits, Vacation, 401k
