Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an Iron Worker for a project around Philadelphia, PA!

PAY: $27-$32/hour (based upon experience)

HOURS: Shifts will be 8 to 10-hour workdays, 5 days per week (40-50 hours/week)

SCHEDULE: Workdays will be Monday-Friday; 6:30am – 3:00 or 5:00 pm

START DATE: ASAP

DURATION: temp-to-hire

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious iron worker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation of structural and reinforcing iron and steel. Primary duties will include stuffing bolts, snapping bolts, welding, running deck as well as other ironworking tasks as needed.

Key responsibilities:

Bolt and torque bolts to connect structural steel members using proper tools and torque specifications.

Cutting to required lengths using appropriate tools such as cutting torches, grinders, or saws.

Perform welding tasks to connect metal components using arc welding, or other appropriate methods in accordance with industry standards.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.

Align, bolt, and weld steel components in place during the erection of steel frameworks.

Use cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment to move heavy structural components safely and precisely.

Inspect work for accuracy and ensure all connections meet structural and safety requirements.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety regulations and site-specific guidelines.

Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an iron worker or similar role in the construction industry.

Proficiency in bolting, cutting, and welding techniques.

Ability to read and understand construction drawings and steel erection plans.

Knowledge of proper rigging and crane signaling procedures.

Strong understanding of safety procedures, including fall protection and PPE requirements and iron worker tools (belts, bags, spud wrenches, harness)

Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Additional Requirements:

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Must have reliable transportation to the job site

Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required
