Philly AIDS Thrift, a nonprofit thrift store that benefits over 30 HIV/AIDS Non-Profit Organizations, is looking for a creative, high-energy, fast-learning individual to join our team! The Cashier position is part-time, working up to 20-30 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are between the hours of 11:00AM-8:00PM Mondays-Sundays. Reliable transportation is a MUST!

As a representative of the store, the employee must always greet and assist all donors, customers, and volunteers in a courteous and professional relationship with all other store employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide outstanding customer service
Assist customers by answering questions, locating merchandise, and handling customer transactions using pos system
Maintain the stock and sales floor to provide an engaging experience to every customer
Assist with merchandising and display
Assist with accepting donations from our wonderful donors
Perform/assist in other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School diploma/GED or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in sales, customer service, or other work environments working with the public is preferred.
Previous skills operating a POS system and handling customer transactions are helpful
Practical verbal and written communication skills
Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
Reliable transportation is a MUST!
Physical Requirements:
Ability to spend most of work time standing or moving about between departments
Physical activities include standing, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking, and/or reaching on a frequent basis
Ability to move and/or lift up to 30 pounds; heavier merchandise with team assist
Hourly wage. Looking to hire ASAP.
