Night Warehouse Operations Manager

The Night Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee the efficient and safe operation of our multi-zone distribution center during the night shift, including both warehouse and clerical staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, managing both in-house and third-party shipping operations, as well as optimizing warehouse processes in a fast-paced, multi-temperature environment.

This is a full-time, night shift position reporting to the Director of Operations. Salary is $80,000 to $90,000 per year based on level of experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and lead warehouse and clerical associates during the night shift.

Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and best practices.

Provide training for new hires and ongoing coaching for existing employees.

Schedule and assign tasks to optimize productivity and efficiency.

Oversee night shift operations, including picking, processing, shipping and late receiving.

Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment by customer specifications.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory management to prevent stockouts or overstock.

Maintain a clean, organized warehouse while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Utilize WMS to track inventory, process orders, and manage daily operations.

Troubleshoot WMS issues and collaborate with IT for resolution.

Analyze system reports to maintain inventory accuracy and optimize space utilization.

Enforce safety policies and ensure team members are trained in safety procedures.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health codes, and company standards.

Ensure all warehouse equipment and trucks are operational and address breakdowns efficiently to minimize customer service gaps.

Have a general understanding of transportation and local routes to make any necessary changes as needed to reduce any potential customer service gaps.

Lead accident investigations, report incidents, and implement corrective actions.

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipments, and labor efficiency.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Perform additional tasks as needed or assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience Requirement:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, including 2+ years in managerial or supervisory role.

Experience in managing multi-temperature environments (ambient, refrigerated, frozen).

Strong background (preferred 2+ years) in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as HighJump.

Proven track record of successfully managing teams in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center.

Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods of time.

Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment (ambient, refrigerated, and frozen).

Ability to operate safely various material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Work performed in a warehouse setting with occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions and varying levels of noise.

Typing and viewing of a computer screen as needed. Weekend work as needed.
