We are currently accepting applications for a F/T Assistive Technology Specialist. The Assistive Technology Specialist is responsible for working with individuals who are blind, visually impaired, have functional visual limitations, and/or who are otherwise physically or cognitively impaired/limited.

The Assistive Technology Specialist provides direct and indirect services relating to assisting disabled individuals achieve access to various areas and functions of educational, employment and/or everyday personal independence via augmentative technology solutions. Areas of activity include evaluating, consulting, providing technical support and/or training disabled individuals, scheduling, record-keeping, reporting and other functions as required.

Must be able to travel independently within multiple counties within tri-state (PA, DE, NJ) area to various local and distance-based residential, academic, employment locations.

Communicates Effectively: Speaks, listens and writes in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Must be decisive, yet flexible and able to collaborate with fellow employees to accomplish assigned tasks. Focuses on Client Needs: Anticipates, understands, and responds to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within the program and organizational parameters. Fosters Teamwork: Works cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance program and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications: Education: Associate Degree or higher preferred - will consider candidates not possessing degree who have 2+ years of experience in a computer technology, assistive technology and/or training-related field

Existing knowledge/skill of blind/visually impaired and/or other disability-related assistive technologies a plus.

Schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm and weekends when necessary.

Pay Commensurate with experience.
