Looking for an attorney, admitted in both NJ and PA, to work remotely for busy multi-faceted small law practice. We handle personal injury, professional malpractice, criminal defense, complex civil actions, divorce, child custody and other areas of practice. We practice in numerous states.
Bar admission in PA and NJ is required. We are certainly interested to hear if you are also licensed elsewhere.
The job will involve going to court in NJ and PA either electronically participating in online Zoom hearings, or physically traveling to courthouses. Some travel will be necessary (but not too often).
This job will also involve preparing motions, petitions, complaints, opposition papers and other documents for court. It will entail responding to pre-trial discovery requests and issuing such requests, along with subpoenas and other investigative techniques. Frequent client contact should be expected.
We are seeking new lawyers (or relatively inexperienced lawyers). All training will be on-the-job. This is a great opportunity for somebody who wants to get her/his feet wet, jump right in, get hands-on experience in a number of specialties and develop wide-ranging legal expertise.
Since you will have some days where you'll be working entirely from home, you should have good working computer equipment and internet access, and a home environment free of any major distractions. You will be emailing regularly with other attorneys and paralegals in the firm, and participating in internal Zoom meetings as we collaborate on various assignments. On other days, you will need to drive to and from court, or perhaps a deposition and so you should also have dependable transportation.
Strong writing and speaking skills are a must. Job is available immediately. Full-time is preferred, but part-time will be considered.
