Job Description:
We seek a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Sushi Helper. In this role, you will work closely with our sushi chefs to help prepare sushi dishes and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar. The ideal candidate should have a passion for Japanese cuisine, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist sushi chefs in the preparation of sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi.
- Prepare ingredients such as rice, fish, vegetables, and sauces according to established recipes and standards.
- Keep the sushi bar clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients and utensils.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of fresh seafood and other ingredients.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the safety and quality of all sushi dishes.
- Work efficiently to maintain a smooth workflow during busy periods.
- Assist with other duties as needed to support the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a sushi restaurant or Japanese kitchen is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of sushi preparation techniques is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff members.
