Drexel University's Administrative and Business Services Division seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Supervisor, Mechanical & Operating Systems within the Mechanical Services department of Real Estate and Facilities. This position provides direct oversight, planning and organizing of work for unionized stationary engineers to ensure the efficient and effective use of personnel and equipment across all of Drexel's campuses. Planned maintenance and repairs will include, but not limited to, the following equipment: boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, piping, steam distribution equipment compressors and building automation systems and controls.

Essential Functions

Supervise, schedule and provide direct oversight to a unionized stationary engineer work force on a daily basis.

Scheduling regular preventative maintenance with computerized maintenance management system. Schedule workload based off of work orders and planned maintenance. Perform work in a cost effective and safe manner following applicable safety and university standards.

Identify, locate, procure and maintain an appropriate on-site inventory of equipment, replacement parts and tools.

Schedule and maintain all records of the maintenance, repair and testing of combustion units. Comply with all regulatory requirements.

Maintain refrigerant inventory, recovery, transition, usage and disposal records in order to document compliance with the proper regulatory requirements.

Perform regular follow up inspections on preventative maintenance work and repair work throughout all campuses.

Share in on-call response with other facilities managers for off-hour emergencies.

Ensure the continuous operation of university equipment to provide for the proper temperature and environmental conditions needed to operate a 24/7 research university.

Train all stationary engineers in the proper maintenance of university equipment using the proper measurement devices and tools in order to meet the original manufacturers specifications.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Facilities Management or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630.00 to $93,950.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
