A research assistant position is available in the field of plasticity and repair after spinal cord injury. The primary responsibilities of the position are to conduct immunohistology experiments (sample preparation, sectioning, immunostaining and taking pictures with a microscope), assist with surgeries, electrophysiological experiments, animal care and lab management.
Essential Functions
Assisting with electrophysiological experiments.
Assisting with rodent surgeries.
Histology and Immunostaining.
Lab Management.
Education Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree Neuroscience, Biology, or Related Fields or Equivalent .
Minimum of a One year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the following techniques preferred: Immunohistology, basic surgical technique, and working with rodents (rats).
Excellent organizational skills.
Physical Demands
Typically sitting at a desk/table
Typically standing, walking
Lifting demands 25lbs

Additional Information
This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade G. Compensation for this grade ranges from 15.58 to 23.37 Per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
