The Radiology Clinical Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic procedures, delegated clinical and administrative duties in a medical support role consistent with the technologist's education, training, and experience. The Radiology Tech is also responsible for greeting patents and families, collecting & entering demographic and insurance information, collecting payments associated with services rendered and reconciliation of daily services. In addition, other duties necessary to facilitate efficient and timely services to patients and their families such as answering phones, and obtaining appropriate insurance referrals and authorizations as needed per insurance guidelines. Responsibilities may include working with medical records, following HIPAA guidelines.

Performs other patient care assignments as directed.What you will do

Radiology: Performs all general diagnostic techniques and examinations according to the procedures determined by the radiologist and the requesting physician. Manually schedules exams in IDX-Rad. and completes Epic procedures for radiology testing. Identify, develop and digitize patient films. Maintain appropriate record of exams. Complies with all quality assurance practices. Complete CEU's as required for licensure and/or registration.

Other responsibilities associated with this position may include but are not limited to:

Orthopaedics: Able to apply all types of casting materials (plaster/fiberglass) independently with the surgeon on the premises as patient care requires. Cast application includes: short arm casts, long arm casts, short leg casts, long leg casts, cylinder casts, splints (arm/leg), finger splits and all soft goods. Safely remove all types of casts without patient injury with surgeon on the premises. Assist surgeon in application/removal of casts. Maintain adequate supplies of slings, splints and casting materials. Order supplies as needed.; participate in product trials as appropriate. Ensure presence and maintenance of cast saws and other cast removal equipment. Complete patient billing process as assigned. Instruct patients and families on cast care. Participate in yearly mandatory competency skills revalidation classes on casting at the Main Campus.

Phlebotomy: Process test orders and performs phlebotomy as ordered by the respective clinician. Using established procedures: performs venipuncture and capillary phlebotomy; follows all safety and infection control rules; enters information in the appropriate computer system; participate in yearly mandatory competency skill revalidation on Main Campus.

Patient Flow: Using CHOP standards, policy and procedures, assists medical and nursing staff by: obtaining and recording physical measurements: weight, height, head circumference, growth chart completion; obtain and record vital signs along with pain screening; document da a specific to department requirements, i.e., EPIC vs. paper; perform basic laboratory testing on the premises within POCT standards; perform electrocardiograms(EKG) and Holter monitor using age specific standards; ability to identify patients in distress and notify appropriate care team member in a timely fashion; clean and sterilize medical instruments using health system standards; order supplies and stock exam rooms. Participate in yearly mandatory competency skills revalidation.

Intake: Responsible for promptly and positively greeting patients and families, while assuring an efficient check in process and telephone encounters ;all according to pre-established practice guidelines.

Verifying accurately entering essential patient information into the hospital registration and scheduling system with a 90% accuracy.

Reconciliation of daily services to include collection and processing of payments received, schedule follow up appointments, & enter diagnosis codes according to pre-established practice guidelines.

Other areas of responsibility may include answering telephones, daily maintenance voicemail retrieval and accurate message transcription and follow through, distribution of mail, and clerical duties as assigned.

Technical Diploma Radiologic Technology RequiredExperience Qualifications

Pediatric experience Preferred

Radiology Technologist (RT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - upon hire - Required

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex.
