Description

The Administrator of Early Field Placement plays a key role within the College of Education and Human Development by managing the early field placement process for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs. This role involves identifying suitable mentor teachers, matching students with appropriate field placements, and providing ongoing support to both students and mentors throughout the year. Additionally, the role focuses on ensuring high quality early field experiences for students based on feedback from various stakeholders in collaboration with the Associate Directors of Clinical Practice.Essential Functions of PositionIdentify and secure appropriate early field placements for students in middle and secondary teacher education programs.

Match students with mentor teachers based on program requirements and student needs.

Coordinate placements across various schools in Philadelphia and the surrounding area.

Conduct comprehensive orientations for students at the beginning of each semester.

Ensure students understand the placement process, expectations, and responsibilities in the field.

Provide individualized support to students throughout the placement period, including regular meetings, check-ins, and site visits.

Support mentor teachers through ongoing communication and resources.

Address any issues or concerns raised by mentor teachers promptly and effectively.

Collect feedback from students and mentor teachers regarding their placement experiences.

In collaboration with the Associate Directors of Clinical Practice, analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement and ensure quality support for all stakeholders.

Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including school leaders and staff.

Assist Associate Directors of Clinical Practice in matching students for student teaching placements based on early field experiences.

Collaborate with program faculty to align field placements with curriculum goals and standards.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.D.Other Pertinent Data:Required skills and abilities:

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Knowledge of educational practices and familiarity with teacher preparation programs.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with mentor teachers.

Work collaboratively with staff in the college to support overall student needs.
