Job Summary:
The Family Friends Program Part-Time Coordinator oversees the coordination and daily management of the Family Friends program as well as engage in direct services with families-including biological/adoptive parents, kinship caregivers and foster parents-who are raising children with special needs. Recruit and support an intergenerational pool of mentors to support families.
This is a grant-funded, part-time exempt position that operates during the fiscal year. Hours for this position are 20 hours a week. However, evening hours/ weekends and other hours could be required based on the needs of the program.
This position is responsible for the recruitment and training of Program Mentors and Youth Caregivers who provide in-home/community family supports.The incumbent will match mentors with prospective families and conduct initial Mentor-Family Match Visits.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human/social services field and at least 4 years related work experience. Master's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Preferred:
Master's degree
Experience working with inner city low-income families
Experience recruiting and supporting mentors and working with adults
Essential Functions of Position:
Coordinate monthly mentor and caregiver meetings and workshops/trainings
Develop community partnerships and resources to share with kinship families
Review Mentors weekly activity logs for payments
Capture activities/registration data and update DHS client database; adhere to Temple policies and program expectations.
Prepare and coordinate monthly reports/annual audit requests by required deadlines
Attend IGC/Providers/community meetings as required
