Primary responsibilities of the Materials Service Partner will be the picking of supplies and instruments for all OR cases scheduled for next day procedures, scanning instrument sets, delivering items to the appropriate area, communicating to materials management critical shortages of items stocked by materials management, and submitting requests to order those items and additional stock. Determine which unused sets by nursing staff to send back to the ISC or keep onsite—rescanning all groups to their designated locations, often moving inventory around due to poor internal compliance.

Responsibilities:

Verifies the accuracy of the cases and fills any gaps that may be there

Communicates the delivery of case carts with the appropriate staff

Displays adequate communication skillsDemonstrates courtesy and respect for patients, visitors and employees to fulfill service mission

Anticipates customers’ needs and or concerns by asking if they need assistance

Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Education/Experience:

H.S. Diploma/GED required.
