Lab Operations Manager

Rapidly growing cell engineering company looking for a Laboratory Operations Associate to participate in expansion of laboratory operations capabilities. The candidate will work directly with the Laboratory Operations Manager to establish and maintain scientific support activities, including the design and implementation of laboratory management processes across a multi-site environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Performance of daily, multi-site laboratory operations including inventory, ordering of reagents and consumables, routine instrument maintenance, and general laboratory housekeeping responsibilities
  • Use of an Inventory Management program to facilitate the availability of laboratory consumables
  • Assist with the transfer of existing laboratory equipment and processes between sites as needed
  • Asset Management - maintain laboratory instrumentation and associated documentation to ensure proper functionality through preventative maintenance and routine calibration
  • Familiarity and facilitation of laboratory biohazardous waste management activities
  • Maintain an up to date, cross-site, chemical inventory for Century laboratories
  • Assist with implementation of EH&S best practices
  • Maintain and promote a safe working environment by adhering to company safety policies
  • Multi-site laboratory gas management - daily oversight of cylinder gases and LN2 availability
  • Participation in company-based committees for improved lab safety, operational standards, lab design
  • Perform routine lab activities - lab coats/PPE availability and shipping/receiving
  • Perform other company related duties as required

Requirements:

• Communication skills and a willingness to interact with colleagues at all levels is a must

• Working knowledge and experience in a R&D lab-based environment, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry

• Demonstrated organizational skills and familiarity with biological laboratory operations

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and multitask

Qualifications:

• B.S. / A.S. degree (Laboratory Operations, Biological Research) preferred

• Laboratory experience - 5+ years of hands-on experience in a biological laboratory
