AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern Co-Op to be based in Philadelphia, PA.Our team is looking for a civil engineering co-op student interested in joining a premier engineering company with potential to gain experience on a variety of challenging transportation projects that include work within the highway, bridge, rail, mass transit, and airport industries. Previous and current projects include several projects involving the reconstruction of I-95 in the Philadelphia area, reconstruction of I-476, several reconstruction and interchange improvement projects along I-78 in Berks County PA, reconstruction and interchange improvements along I-80 in Monroe County PA, several total reconstruction projects along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, supporting the design of Green Infrastructure within the City of Philadelphia and supporting DelDOT statewide pavement rehab program. Our clients include PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, DelDOT, Norfolk Southern Railroad, CSX, Amtrak, the Delaware River Port Authority, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, the City of Philadelphia and SEPTA.This position is expected to begin in September 2025.Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Assist with design tasks, including:Preliminary to final design calculationsDevelopment of design plansReview field information and potentially perform field inspections of existing facilitiesPerform duties aligned with those of an entry-level graduate engineerDemonstrate enthusiasm, adaptability, and a strong sense of personal responsibilityApply technical training to perform basic engineering calculationsCollaborate effectively within a team settingCommit to diligently learning new skillsPossess strong computer literacy and a proven ability to learn quicklyAdapt to short-term assignments while maintaining focus on long-term projects
