JMT, is currently ranked #61 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms.JMT's Project Controls Team is seeking a Construction Estimator to be responsible for the review and negotiation of construction contract change orders on various construction projects for the School District of Philadelphia (SDP). Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review contractor change order requests
Analyze change order scope for merit
Gather documentation supporting requested change order costs
Develop independent change order cost estimates
Negotiate cost with contractors
Develop strategies for negotiating claims
Write and prepare detailed estimate reports

Perform other related duties as assigned
Required SkillsRequired Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Project, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel
Ability to interpret construction contracts, specifications, and drawings
Understanding of general construction means and methods
Knowledge of contract procedures and principles
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related technical field preferred
3 -5 years’ Experience with Facilities construction preferred
Working ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking.
