The AVP of FPA position is responsible for the delivery of key financial reporting, planning, and analysis functions for Radian, including monthly/quarterly management reporting, variance analysis, financial forecasting, strategic planning, and ad hoc analysis activities. This individual will partner extensively with leaders from across the company to lead key strategic initiatives and serve as the primary business partner for senior executives (including EVP and SEVP level), identifying areas of risk and opportunity, and collaborating on strategies to achieve financial targets. This individual is responsible for critical financial planning modeling and analysis upon which the company will rely in setting our strategic and financial plan. They will prepare analysis and reporting to share directly with our board of directors and must ensure extremely high quality and accuracy in their work while simultaneously meeting tight deadlines with short notice.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare/review and maintain monthly management reporting to include financial results, key metrics, performance indicators, and variance analysesLead financial planning activities, including forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analyses, and reporting, working directly with executive leadershipLead the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting of Radian's results and updated forecasts, Board of Director Reporting, etcLead process to forecast key drivers and metrics, relying on standardized tools and processes and seeking to maximize both efficiency and accuracyUnderstand, execute, and evolve financial reporting and analyses, ensuring accuracy of reported results and consistently look to drive process improvements to support greater efficiency/accuracyMonitor and report relevant industry data and peer comparisonsPartner with business leaders across the organization and work with Executive team to understand key business drivers of revenue, as well as provide insights into drivers of revenue, risks, and opportunities.Serve as a leader and mentor within the Finance and Accounting teams, helping to develop expertise and talent in the organizationPerform other duties as assigned or apparent.QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience:Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent ExperienceWork Experience: 8 or more years of prior work experienceAdditional Qualifications:Strong financial experience in areas such as forecasting (Income Statement/Balance Sheet), P&L analysis, reporting, financial modeling, portfolio analysis, etc.Experience in Mortgage Industry or financial services is preferred.Requires strong hands-on analytical and organizational skills.Strong technical and data management/modeling skills.MS Excel, Powerpoint, and other MS Office proficiency required. Oracle Hyperion and Alteryx preferred.Strong understanding of and experience with forecasting tools, financial modeling, and accounting systems.Preferred Years of Prior Work-Related Experience: 8Other Qualifications including any special skills, capabilities, and competencies:Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization and with outside personnel.
