About Us: Media-Providence Friends School (MPFS) is renowned for its commitment to holistic education, fostering growth, creativity, and community among its students. Our Summer Friends Camp embodies these values, providing a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 3-10 to explore, learn, and grow during their summer break.

Are you a responsible young person between the ages of 12 and 15, eager to gain valuable job experience while assisting counselors in their daily duties at Summer Friends Camp? Media-Providence Friends School welcomes enthusiastic candidates to apply for our Counselor in Training (CIT) program. This opportunity offers participants a chance to develop leadership skills, engage with children in a nurturing environment, and embrace Quaker philosophy principles.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist camp counselors in organizing and supervising daily activities for children ages 3-10.

-Serve as a positive role model for campers, embodying respect, responsibility, and cooperation.

-Participate in training sessions designed to foster leadership, conflict resolution, and child development knowledge.

-Engage actively in team-building exercises and collaborative projects with fellow CITs and camp staff.

-Accompany campers on field trips and pool trips (for children aged 5 and above), ensuring their safety and enjoyment.

-Uphold the mission and values of Summer Friends Camp through your actions and interactions.

Qualifications:

-Age 12-15, with a mature and responsible demeanor.

-Genuine interest in working with children and contributing to their growth and well-being.

-Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with campers, peers, and supervisors.

-Willingness to learn, adapt, and approach challenges with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

-Commitment to upholding Quaker philosophy principles, including integrity, simplicity, equality, community, and stewardship.

Counselor-In-Training Program Details: Spaces in the CIT program are limited. This application will be removed when all CIT positions have been filled. Please select the week(s) that you are interested in working as a CIT. CIT’s are expected to work from 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM. Applicants must be available to work at least three of the four 2-week sessions below.

Camp dates are as follows:

Session 1: June 24-July 5 (No camp July 3-4)

Session 2: July 8-19

Session 3: July 22-Aug 2

Session 4: August 5-16
