Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Collections Specialist to manage our financial records and assist with collections. This part-time role (30 hours per week) involves maintaining accurate accounting records, monitoring accounts payable and receivable, assisting with financial reporting, and managing overdue accounts. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate professionally while maintaining positive client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain general ledger and financial records.

Record daily transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.

Prepare and process payroll as needed.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.

Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Support management in budgeting and financial forecasting.

Contact clients regarding overdue invoices via phone, email, or written correspondence.

Negotiate payment arrangements and resolve disputes professionally.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing or account discrepancies.

Generate reports on collection activities and outstanding balances.

Maintain accurate documentation of all collection interactions.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant collection laws.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.

Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Proven experience in collections or customer service.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.

Experience with reporting and data tracking for collection performance.

Preferred Skills:

Ability to multitask and prioritize work efficiently.
