We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and playing a key role in the accounts receivable process. This candidate will collaborate with various departments to streamline financial operations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Job Description:

As a Bookkeeper at Arnold’s Office Furniture, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of our office furniture business. Your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Financial Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company, including accounts receivable and general ledger entries.

2. Process and record customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner

3. Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely payments.

4. Reconcile AR accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies promptly.

5. Bank Reconciliation: Assist with reconciling bank statements and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded correctly.

6. Invoicing and Billing: Prepare and send invoices to clients, track payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.

7. Financial Reports: Assist with generation of financial reports to provide insights and support decision-making for the management team.

8. Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation and submission of sales tax returns

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience in small-medium businesses.

- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.

- Highly Skilled in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Prior experience in the furniture or interior design industry is a plus but not required.

Education:

- A degree in accounting or finance is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
