Requirements
Bachelor’s in Biology/Microbiology or equivalent discipline. Preferred candidates will also have appropriate experience (typically 0 – 3 years),
OR Associate degree or High School Diploma with appropriate equivalent experience (typically 3 + years)
Knowledge and experience with analytical and microbiological techniques.
Knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory safety.
Experience working in a cGMP laboratory.
Experience with aseptic sample collection and microbial testing.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision Job Summary
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of microbiology functions under minimal supervision. These functions include:
Microbiological Sampling and Testing
Environmental Monitoring
Microbial Plate Counting
Sample Management: including receipt and shipment of samples
General Lab Support: housekeeping, monitoring and maintaining lab supplies inventory
Documentation of all activities according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and internal SOP’s
Essential Functions
Perform sample collection and testing of environmental surface/air and utilities.
Use a wide variety of sophisticated equipment with responsibility for operation, maintenance,
and daily calibration check (if appropriate).
Prepare documentation of all laboratory work in accordance with cGMPs and SOPs, as
appropriate.
Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Maintain inventory of all laboratory chemicals and consumables.
Maintain sample submission area as well as shipment of samples to external laboratories.
