Job DescriptionJob Description:The Associate Director, Marketing, HPV Scientific Strategy plays a critical role in supporting the HPV vaccine franchise. The HPV vaccine is in a highly complex market while being a key growth driver for the organization. The Scientific Strategy Lead will be accountable for developing the strategies and relevant initiatives to drive scientific understanding, advocacy and activation for the HPV vaccine. The position will collaborate with the HPV Area Leadership Teams, Customer Agile Teams (CATs) and other Agile Teams to:

Identify scientific strategy opportunities.

Develop solutions, resources and tactics to address the opportunities.

This role requires a deep understanding of provider and external stakeholder needs in the HPV scientific ecosystem and will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Collaborating with HPV Area Leadership Teams, CATs and other Agile Teams to identify scientific strategy opportunities, prioritize them and develop solutions, tactics and resources to address the opportunities.

Collaborating with Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (GMSA), US, Senior Director of Medical Affairs (SDMA), Center for Observational and Real-world Evidence (CORE), Policy, Vaccine Scientific Engagement (VSE), and Global Marketing to lead scientific commercial activities including digital components.

Proactively monitoring the HPV scientific landscape and develop plans to address opportunities and risks.

Identifying gaps in value evidence generation and working with CORE to generate data to support the commercial strategy.

Representing the brand in LEAD labeling meetings.

Leading congress strategy (promotional and non-promotional), coordinating the development of congress resources / activities with Adult and Adolescent CATs, and collaborating across other company brands for a One Company approach.

Collaborating with Program Leads, Medical Affairs and Global Expert Management & Strategy to plan for Group Input Meetings.

Collaborating with Medical Affairs to identify key stakeholders and developing resources (for e.g. med ed) to deliver business goals.

Active involvement in publications meetings and reporting out relevant progress.

Education:

Required: BA/BS

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant disciplines, including strategic marketing, brand management, sales or business support knowledge.

Technical Skills:

Ability to translate complex scientific issues into simple communicable strategies and messages.

Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through knowledge in strategy & marketing business case communication, sales interface, direct customer engagement and/or sales presentations.

Strong prioritization and project management skills with attention to detail.

Effective at navigating whitespace opportunities.

Strategic, analytical and innovative.

Proactive, organized and self-directed.

Ability to be flexible and effective across diverse marketing opportunities.

Proficiency in a highly regulated environment (with medical/legal review processes), including bring materials through legal, regulatory and clinical review

Interpersonal Skills:

Active Listening: Being an active listener allows you to understand the concerns and motivations of cross-functional stakeholders. It involves paying attention, asking clarifying questions, and paraphrasing to ensure a clear understanding of their perspectives.

Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills enable the role to find win-win solutions with a variety of stakeholders. They should be able to assertively advocate for the team's needs while considering the stakeholder's interests.

Diplomacy and Tact: This position requires diplomacy and tact in communication. It involves choosing the right words, tone, and approach to address concerns, manage expectations, and maintain positive relationships.

Influence and Persuasion: The ability to influence and persuade stakeholders is vital in gaining their support and cooperation. Proficiency influencing without direct authority, navigating complex or matrix organizations.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills are necessary to address challenges and potential roadblocks. This includes identifying root causes, exploring alternative solutions, and implementing strategies to mitigate barriers.

Patience and Resilience: Dealing with multiple priorities and stakeholders can be challenging, and it requires patience and resilience. The ability to stay calm, maintain composure, and persevere through adversity is critical for success.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience in Vaccines.

Familiarity with scrum and/or agile marketing principles.

Prior scientific or medical education experience.
