NAME OF EMPLOYER: Johnson Controls, Inc.POSITION TITLE: Design Standardization Architect IIPOSITION LOCATION: 5000 Renaissance Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349JOB DESCRIPTION:Responsible to support the definition, development and delivery of a standardized methodology addressing the design processes followed during the chiller product developments and subsequent sustaining activities within the Chiller Solutions line of business. Design process areas pertaining to the global activities required to develop new products as well as to sustain existing ones. Support the design automation team and understand requirements and challenges to ensure team is successful in implementing an automation roadmap. Support efforts to standardize on design related processes and help to enforce those processes globally. Document/maintain existing Chiller design processes by participating in discovery workshops, applying knowledge of Chiller design, participating in design for manufacturing reviews, conferring with Chiller Solutions peers, soliciting inputs from manufacturing centers & design centers, etc. Document/maintain design rules, guidelines, templates, etc. and formalize into a standardized design methodology whose cadence embeds into the existing PDP/D3 process. Act as product line(s) architect in all design related efforts for product standardization e.g., engineering order manual (EOM) structure, 3D models and 2D drawing structure, bill of material (BOM) standardized structure, etc. Establish relationships and close collaboration with the leaders of the Design Automation and Design Operations teams globally. Contribute to the development of generic, cross-product line tools, templates, and data structures that the design automation team will require to execute their strategy. Provide guidance and recommendations on how to deploy and use standardized design methodology. Support deployment activities and contribute to training activities as requested. Ensure high level of engagement with the design teams in all regions to identify opportunities and create initiatives to improve efficiency. Provide guidance and support to the Chiller Solutions teams through the change journey. Domestic and International Travel up to 10%-20% of the time.REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechatronic Engineering or a related field. Five (5) Years of experience as a Designer, Engineer or other occupation involving Industrial Equipment Design, Manufacturing of Configurable Products. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Utilizing Creo 3D Modeling software; (2) Utilizing ERP systems (SAP, MAPICS, or AS/400); (3) Utilizing Bill of material configurators (eLogia, or VC); (4) 2D AutoCAD experience; and (5) DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Design for Assembly Principles.RATE OF PAY: $100,693.00 per yearApplicants who are interested in this position should apply by emailing their resume to [email protected].
