ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of the Principal Software Engineer in Test position is to ensure internally developed software applications and program changes meet or exceed expectations for quality and reliability. This position provides integration, system, and performance testing by way of manual and automated testing tools. This position requires a significant degree of creativity, innovation, evaluation and constructive thinking. This position also champions and promotes all aspects the Test Engineers discipline to the Software Engineer Team. This role would generally not have budgetary responsibility, but decisions may affect the services or products. This role requires regular analysis of data and the ability to meet interpersonal, analytical and organizational demands.With limited decision making, the Principal Software Engineer in Test provides assistance and consultation on complex projects, leads in the development and execution of master test plans, analyzes capabilities of new application performance management tools to provide recommendations to the AVP of Development and ensures all projects and initiatives are completed on time. Working under limited supervision, the problems encountered are somewhat complex and may require analysis of data. Finally, the role will require normal courtesy, tact and diplomacy, which involves much personal contact with others.SKILLS:

Works closely with Engineering Team to close the gap between building and testing

Develops and continues to expand a sound understanding of automated testing tools and ALM software

Analyze project requirements and develop test plans and test cases for product feature testing and system testing based on Risk of the change

Research new software automation tools that would provide a benefit to the Software Engineer in Test and Engineering teams

Maintains and promotes all aspects of Test Engineering to the Software Engineering TeamPREFERENCES:

Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment

Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel

Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

Qualifications8-10 years of hands-on experience in information systems and development, mobile applications, user experience principles (UX) and relational database fundamentals 4+ years of professional hands-on experience a software testing role
