This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026. AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer in the Greater Pennsylvania area to join AECOM Transportation Department in Mechanicsburg, PA. As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department’s current and future portfolio of projects.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develop and strengthen analytical and design skills.Assist with engineering design tasks under the guidance of experienced engineers.Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings.Collect, organize, and analyze data to support engineering decisions.Utilize engineering software to solve basic technical problems.Contribute to project work while adhering to established budgets and schedules. Qualifications
 
Minimum Requirements:B.S. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines.Preferred Qualifications:Academic track with structural engineering concentration is highly desirable.1-2 cycles of relevant internship experience in the execution of structural design projects is a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.Some production software experience including but not limited to: MicroStation, AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam is highly desirable.Some structural analysis software experience including but not limited to: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, and LUSAS is a plus.Basic familiarity and working knowledge of relevant building codes and standards including AASHTO, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, ACI 530, NDS, etc.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.Master of Science in Structural Engineering or related field is a plus.Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available.

A full-time in-office schedule is also an option.
