The primary duty of the Forest Insect Pest Aide 1 in Pennsylvania is to carry out surveys and detection work for invasive insect pests in forests and agricultural areas, such as vineyards, orchards, and commercial settings. This involves communicating with property owners to inform them about the survey programs and acquiring consent to inspect trees or set up traps before initiating any activities. Additionally, the aide is responsible for adhering to survey protocols for trap handling, entering data, and keeping a detailed record of their work.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

This position requires travel to Harrisburg for training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Any combination of experience and/or training which afforded the applicant the above listed required abilities.Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.Preferred Qualifications (not required):

College coursework in entomology, forestry, botany, or environmental science.

College credits or experience in dendrology or plant taxonomy.Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
