BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced I nternal M edicine department.

If you answered "yes" to these questions, then we want to hear from you.Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hourThis pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system .As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will

Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).

Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).

Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.

Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance. ​

Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.

Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.

Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.

Additional job duties as assigned.
