We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and manage design projects. This role involves overseeing subordinates, maintaining project budgets and schedules, and preparing comprehensive progress reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in mechanical design and engineering analysis, with a focus on automation and dynamic systems.Key Responsibilities:
Manage design projects, instructing subordinates while ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
Perform engineering analyses to determine loads, moments, and stresses in new and existing designs.
Conduct thermal and thermodynamic analyses of engineered systems as required.
Select motors, actuators, and drive system components for automation and dynamic systems.
Provide estimates for engineering, design, and drafting time required for new design projects.
Meet with current and prospective clients to gather information on new projects and generate proposals.
Create 3D models of manufactured parts, purchased parts, sheet metal parts, and assemblies using best practices.
Develop 2D drawings from 3D models with appropriate GD&T callouts to meet design and manufacturing requirements.
Create 2D drawings from 3D assemblies, including linked bills of materials and assembly instructions.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in SolidWorks is a must; formal training and/or SolidWorks Certification is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with five years of experience in machine design and new product development, or
Fifteen years of experience in mechanical design with formal training in mechanical design engineering.
