Manager I - Application Engineering Chapter Lead (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew; provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew; set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures; provide expert level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases; integrate third party products; ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved; identify potential solutions and approve technical solutions proposed by team members; elevate complex technical issues to IT experts; resolve technical problems discovered by testers and internal clients; respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner; research issues and perform root cause analysis; communicate with key stakeholders on project issues and implications; evaluate the impacts of change requests on technologies and effectively persuade and influence others on ideas; provide realistic task and cost estimates; identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies; develop Java, AWS and spring-boot based applications. Requires Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related IT field and two years of experience in job offered or in IT positions including Senior Software Engineer/Tech Lead and/or Java Production Support and/or Support Engineer. Background in education, training or experience must include strong experience developing Java, AWS and Spring Boot based applications; experience with Bamboo, Bitbucket, Oracle PL/SQL, Spring, Spring MVC, IOC, Spring Boot, Spring Security, People management, Project management. Approximately 5-10% domestic travel required to offsite company locations. Company operates on hybrid model with three days in office and work-from-home available two days.
