Job Description

As a

Senior Storage Engineer, you will prepare project plans, provide estimates for project tasks, and assist with prioritization in relation to capacity planning and performance analytics. You will design, deploy and administer storage infrastructures. You will analyze and specify technology opportunities and make system recommendations. You will work on or lead assignments and projects. You will plan design, implement, administer, and support storage infrastructure technologies. You will plan and prepare for disaster recovery, storage capacity, and provide performance analysis. You will mentor and coach other engineers in the development and support of the storage environment. Working Environment Hybrid or Remote This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. If you are not within a metro area of a Cerner office, you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. #LI-Hybrid #Remote

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education; including:
    • At least 2 years of system administration and/or system engineering work experience
    • At least 6 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education; including:
      • Bachelor of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred enterprise production hosting experience with the following platforms:
    • Brocade director class and departmental FC switches; and their administrative tools (BNA, SANnav, DCNM, etc).
    • DellEMC VMAX, PowerMax, XtremIO, VNX, Unity systems deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
    • Netapp FAS deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • HPe 3Par storage deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Expectations
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
