The Behavior Specialist will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The Behavior Specialist’s primary role involves providing Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Positive Behavior Support Plans. The Behavior Specialist will assess an individual and develop a complete plan, which outlines support strategies to address specific target behaviors as identified in the assessment process.  The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for training school staff on all aspects of the support plan and will be responsible for providing on-going consultation around implementation of plans and monitoring of behavioral interventions. This position also involves working closely with IEP teams and completion of related IEP paperwork. The Behavior Specialist will provide leadership to our school programs in the area of behavior management, through advising therapeutic/teaching staff in implementation of behavior plans and offering relevant training throughout the agency.
The Behavior Specialist must have a Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field as well as have experience developing behavioral support plans for young children with behavioral concerns. BCBA credential is preferred. A commitment to serving individuals with severely challenging behaviors in the school setting is essential, as well as a strong background in serving students with autism and neurological impairments.This position supports Easterseals Approved Private School in Kulpsville PA.
