Responsibilities -Service Tech:
Responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
Perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her.
Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of, with some assistance: engines, power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering and suspension systems, electronics to include ECM's, PCM’s, ECU's, sensors, etc.
Communicate with our Parts Department to obtain needed parts
Save and tag parts if the repair is under warranty or requested by the customer
Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required
Road-test vehicles when requested
Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
Attend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
Ensure that serviced vehicles are returned in clean, showroom condition
Keep Service Area neat. Be able to account for dealership-owned tools at all times
Follow government regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste
Follow safety procedures and immediately report accidents to manager or supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements - Service Tech:
At least two years of automotive service technician experience.
Volkswagen Service Technician experience required, at least 1 year
General mechanical skills
Pennsylvania State and Emissions Inspection License
Computer proficiency
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. ASE certification preferred.
Must have own tools
Valid driver's license and acceptable, safe driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
