Maintenance Technician Essential Job Functions (Full Description):Safety: Prioritize safety by performing tasks in a safe and efficient manner, addressing safety issues and deficiencies as the top priority.Equipment Understanding: Have a comprehensive understanding of production equipment capabilities, including strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance abilities. Respond with a high sense of urgency to troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify breakdowns promptly to minimize equipment downtime.Manufacturer Specifications: Maintain production equipment within manufacturer's specifications.Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in reading electrical/mechanical diagrams and blueprint drawings.Installation Skills: Capable of properly installing specialized equipment, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, conduit, wiring, and phones as needed.Mechanical Skills: Show strong mechanical skills and the ability to learn machine shop equipment.Operation of Tools: Operate power tools and other specialized electrical equipment.Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills to work effectively with the Maintenance Manager, maintenance team, and other departments.Electrical Troubleshooting: Be highly skilled in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance, with additional competencies to address mechanical issues as needed.Initiative and Development: Demonstrate the drive and initiative to develop skills required to reliably and autonomously support a 24/7 operation.Self-Motivation: Display self-motivation and vision for continual improvement in the operation.These functions collectively contribute to the efficient and safe maintenance of production equipment in an industrial setting.Requirements:What are we looking for?High School diploma or equivalency required, Technical School training preferred.Industrial maintenance/operator or industrial electrical/mechanical construction experience preferredGood communication skillsMachines/Tools/Equipment: A Variety of equipment throughout the production department (Pre-Press, Post-press & Packaging Distribution Center) such as Image Setters/Processors, Plate-Makers, Presses, Inserters, Stitcher/Trimmers, etc. Proficiency with both power and non-power hand tools (drills, saws, wrenches, etc.).
