Job Summary

Equi-Stem, a biotechnology company in Lancaster, PA is focused on developing regenerative medicine therapeutics for horses and small animals, is actively seeking highly motivated candidates for a Laboratory Technician position. The ideal candidate will hold, at a minimum a B.S./B.A. in biology or related scientific disciple, will have knowledge of cell culture techniques, aseptic technique, cGMP manufacturing, knowledge of FDA regulations, knowledge of the FDA drug approval process, and good organizational and record keeping skills. Additional skills that would be beneficial would include SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, ELISAs and cryogenics. Additionally, exceptional candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in various research and development activities within the company. Duties

Conduct laboratory experiments following established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Perform quality control checks on samples and equipment to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Assist in the preparation of samples for analysis, including histology and molecular biology techniques.

Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, and results in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with team members on research development projects, providing insights based on experimental findings.

Utilize veterinary terminology when working with biological samples related to animal health.

Ensure the laboratory environment is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new laboratory techniques and technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience in an industrial laboratory setting.

Familiarity with GLP, FDA regulations, and quality control processes is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, including molecular biology techniques and histology.

Proficiency in math skills for accurate data analysis and interpretation.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within a team environment.

Previous experience working in a research development capacity is a plus.
