SummaryJob DescriptionJob Title: DEXA TechnologistLocation: Lancaster, PA0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week. Mainly days with occasional evening and weekend. Shift start time between 7:30 A and 9:30 A.POSITION SUMMARY:To perform DXA Scans and report to physician on patient results.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Performs dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) studies according to established International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) procedures.

Accurately document patient information. Complete related forms required for the study.

Distribute scans for physician to review.

Order DXA supplies as needed.

Computer skills-utilization of EPIC, DXA specific software, and required network software.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

Compliance with OSHA and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.

Maintain equipment as necessary, including proficiency and quality control test.

Performs Quality Assurance (QA) as required.

Train other employees to perform DXA and Sahara studies.

Other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED

A valid ISCD or ARRT certification in Bone Densitometry is required within 1 year of hire/placement

CPR certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in an Allied Health field (such as Registered Nurse (RN), Nuclear Medical Technologist (NMT)).

One (1) year patient care experience or one (1) year DXA experience

Documented minimum of twelve (12) hours of continuing medical education (CME) Category I or Category A continuing education (CE) credits in bone densitometry, osteoporosis or metabolic bone disease
