THE POSITION

If this sounds like you, then PennDOT's Engineering District 6-0 is eager to connect with you!DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis role is a training opportunity structured around a comprehensive one-year training program that encompasses formal, informal, and hands-on training. The aim is to cultivate technical skills, program knowledge, competency, and experience in the field of transportation planning and programming. Throughout the training period, this position will be mentored by a manager and will be trained to carry out various responsibilities. These include contributing to the development and upkeep of Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and district-wide transportation plans and programs. Additionally, the role involves assisting in creating project program schedules, funding plans, and budgets, as well as preparing relevant reports. You will also be responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and projecting transportation planning and programming data. Furthermore, the position entails program analysis and providing assistance in managing transportation planning systems and information databases. The work is carried out independently within the framework of program guidelines, with oversight from a supervisor who reviews the work upon completion to ensure adherence to technical standards, policies, and desired outcomes.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days during a 10 day pay period (2 or 3 days per week). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; Or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.Other Requirements:
