As a shift supervisor at the District Regional Traffic Management Center, your primary responsibility is to maintain safe and smooth traffic flow in the area. You will utilize Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to improve communication and effectively manage incidents. This includes monitoring closed caption television footage and making quick decisions during traffic situations, such as activating ITS devices and coordinating with relevant parties. You will also supervise the Regional Traffic Management Center Operators, managing their daily tasks, providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and handling leave requests.You will also manage service patrol activities, ensuring timely responses to incidents and notifying authorities about abandoned vehicles that could pose safety risks. Additionally, you will activate AMBER Alerts as needed and develop action plans for special events.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position may require overtime, particularly working through lunch.
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on an ad-hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as a Regional Traffic Management Center Operator; or
Two years of experience evaluating and coordinating information related to traffic data, incidents or conditions.Other Requirements:
