The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (“SEL”) seeks professional, innovative and detailed individuals for our Integration and Automation Engineer position located at our field office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Integration and Automation Engineer (Multiple Openings)Responsibilities:The Integration and Automation Engineer will be required to develop, maintain, and deploy a detailed understanding of electric power system engineering integration, automation, and industrial control systems (including related protocols, serial and network communications, security, and logic programming). The incumbent will apply the principles of electrical engineering and: (1) define, develop, implement, and analyze power system product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes for company products to ensure flawless system integration; (2) diagnose customer reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers; (3) provide technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements; (4) evaluate and test competing power system integration and automation products and enhancements; (5) provide engineering support involving the installation, commissioning, and operation of company electrical power engineering automation and control systems; (6) draft and maintain power system product documentation, including application guides, data sheets, and instruction manuals; and (7) follow, measure, and improve company’s engineering and R&D processes.
