Establishes trusting relationships with associates through open communication and transparency, utilizing MSC tools including Servant Leadership
Evaluates spend-a-day candidates on departmental procedures and provides feedback to supervisor.
Actively engages in continuous improvement efforts within the department, using assessment tools to mitigate risk.
Coaches associates to higher levels of performance by providing training/re-training, engaging in open communication, being coach-like in everyday conversation and leading by example.
Performs, or learns to perform, all department functions within specified productivity and quality expectations. Operates basic and advanced warehouse vehicles (i.e. turret truck and/or order picker).
In supervisor’s absence, analyzes data and reports to ensure labor utilization supports the business needs.
Partners with department supervisor to recommend productivity enhancements, monitors performance and focuses on driving best in class individual performance.
Effectively collaborates across the business to remove obstacles/barriers.
Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOPs, engaging in Safe Work practices, participating in safety meetings, performing audits/observations and offering safety improvement suggestions.
Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
In order to meet customer service requirements, associates can be temporarily re-assigned to other warehouse functions.
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or the equivalent required.
One year of warehousing or related experience is required.
College coursework or degree preferred.
One year of MSC warehousing preferred
SKILLS:
Must obtain MSC license to drive distribution center vehicles within specified time requirements.
Experience in operating basic and advanced warehouse vehicles where required.
Basic computer literacy and AS/400 experience preferred.
