In this role, you will be involved in a range of independent technical tasks, including inspecting materials, assessing the quality of highway construction projects, and contributing to the design of such projects. Additionally, you will assist in the inspection and testing of highway construction work to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and certification standards. Your duties will also involve inspecting various phases of highway construction, such as checking grades, elevations, and stake-outs for roadways and simple structures. It will be important for you to maintain accurate daily records of your activities, including documenting completed work, items for payment, and material certifications, following department procedures.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position has vendor-controlled work hours.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ad hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana.

Overtime and travel as needed/directed.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Other Requirements:

This particular position requires possession of a Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
