We are constantly collaborating with government, industry, and academic leaders worldwide to develop innovative methods and applications.The Research and Development (R&D) Manager for Culture Media will be responsible for leading the research, development, and innovation of culture media products used in microbiological, food safety, environmental, biotech, and pharmaceutical/medical device applications. This role involves growing and managing an R&D team, developing new and improved media formulations, ensuring media quality, and collaborating across departments to meet both customer and regulatory needs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of culture media formulations, microbiology, and a passion for innovation in laboratory practices.Manager, Research & DevelopmentResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the Following:

Direct a growing R&D staff, including organizational structure, hiring, professional development, motivation, performance evaluation, discipline, compensation, personnel policies, and procedures.

Develop, set and manage budgets ensuring that resources are allocated properly.

Lead and manage the R&D activities related to the development and optimization of culture media for microbiological, cell culture, and bioprocessing applications.

Formulate, test, and validate new culture media to meet the specific needs of customers in various industries (e.g., clinical diagnostics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals).

Oversee the testing of media formulations in lab-scale and pilot-scale environments and provide data-driven recommendations for scale-up.

Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to support new product launches and ensure alignment with customer needs

Works across Eurofins Technologies companies to help set the scientific vision, lead and drive execution towards this vision

Set annual department goals guides and develops team members on setting and achieving group and individual goals, and fosters development of the team

Manage the R&D project pipeline, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

Serves as a public spokesperson and represents Gold Standard Diagnostics Horsham LLC at relevant conferences or in pertinent journals, presenting or publishing newly generated scientific information

Provides escalated scientific expertise to Technical Support and Manufacturing organizations should complex, technical product issues arise

Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned by Gold Standard Diagnostics management team.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

Master’s or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

MinimumQualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D for culture media or related products, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.

In-depth knowledge of culture media formulations, applications, and microbiological testing techniques.

Experience in managing cross-functional R&D projects from initial concept through to commercialization.

Solid understanding of regulatory requirements for culture media products (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP).

Experience with laboratory techniques, including media preparation, sterilization validation (steam and irradiation), microbiological culture techniques, manufacturing QC and analytical methods.

Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments relevant to culture media testing and development.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring a team of scientists.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical documentation and present findings to diverse audiences.

TRAVEL: Expected travel associated with position is 10% of the time and may change with business demands.Position is full-timeworking Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pmwith overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Horsham, PA are encouraged to apply.
