As a Clerk 2, you will be one of the first individuals that our community members will interact with as you provide a positive impact on behalf of Wayne County Human Services, Transportation Department. In this vital role, you will work independently while completing tasks assigned by the team (Director, Operations Manager). This includes dispatching drivers and vehicles, answering phones, scheduling trips, appropriately routing calls, as well as maintaining electronic and written records. This position requires you to be proficient in your ability to use a computer and tablet. In this role, you will be required to maintain an extensive operational understanding of the Wayne County Transportation System.Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours may vary from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch, Saturday work hours as needed. Irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

This position may have overnight travel or out of county travel for meetings or training.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or

Completion of a high school business curriculum; or

Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilitiesOther Requirements:

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation.

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
