THE POSITION

Blair County Children, Youth, and Families is seeking a County Social Services Aide 1 to provide assistance and education to families involving setting goals, home and environmental safety, budgeting, health and wellness, and much more. This is a wonderful opportunity for personal and professional growth, while making a positive impact in your community!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a County Social Services Aide 1, you will provide essential support for children and families served by Blair County Children, Youth, and Families. This position affords the chance to grow and empower others while working for an agency that is committed to strengthening families by protecting the rights and welfare of children in this community, and ensuring that children have an opportunity for healthy growth and development, free from abuse or neglect.

Within this role, you will be responsible for initiating visitation and reunification services at the request of a caseworker and actively working with families to address various components that will promote a safe return for the child. Thorough organizational skills are necessary to consistently complete contact reports following all family interactions. You will also assist caseworkers with transportation, placement visits, and outreach regarding referrals to community programs.Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Irregular work schedule may occur depending on the needs of the agency.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Graduation from high school;or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience.Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation.

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.How to Apply:
