Title: Installer
Reports to: Installation Manager and/or Operations Manager
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Job Summary:
Based on provided designs and components, construct, erect, install, and repair custom storage systems and accessories using laminate wood, edge-banding, hardware and other materials, requiring your skills with hand tools and power tools. Training is provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform skilled and semi-skilled carpentry work to install custom storage systems such as closets, cabinets, offices, and other spaces in the home or commercial buildings.
Utilize company provided CAD drawings\blueprints to properly and efficiently install systems.
Helper, Apprentice, Journeyman, and Senior level proficiency with specific product installation procedures.
Install of complex lighting and wire maintenance including all switches of all types including motion, touch or button.
Installation of all design showroom products.
Install sliding doors on a system, specialty notching and cutting.
Install Virtuoso and stacked hybrid systems.
Review paperwork with customer and collect payment as needed.
Train Apprentice and Journeyman Installers.
Responsible for driving to and from customer sites and maintaining company provided vehicles in a safe manner. Report any vehicle problems to the company immediately.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Installer and/or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record
High School diploma
Entry level; 4+ years’ experience; Must have completed Journeyman and Senior Certification at the discretion of Install Manager and/or General Manager.
Experience with common hand and power tools
Trade or vocational school experience desirable
Cabinetry or carpentry skills and/or experience installing offices to furniture quality level finishes.
Ability to efficiently manage multi-day installs with a helper.
Understand all wall types and proper methods of securing.
Understand how to work with and around different obstacles in the process of installing.
Must have ability to read, understand and check plans.
Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills
Must adhere to attendance standards and report to work on time each morning.
Able to provide high level of customer service

Able to walk, lift 50 pounds, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb stairs, kneel, and crouch
Able to work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather, noise, sawdust and other external factors
Requires visual acuity for depth perception and color perception
Visually inspect and report or fix small defects and/or minor measuring mistakes
Able to use a variety of measuring devices and tools provided by the company
Able to assemble or fabricate parts at or within arm’s length
Able to operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools
Able to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work
Able to hear sufficiently to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels
Able to use communication by means of spoken word to express or exchange ideas
Hourly Employee
New installation hires will have a mandatory 30 day training period. At the completion of 30 days the trainee will be assessed on performance and knowledge of the installation process before given the option of commission-based pay. The goal for every installer is to be paid by commission at the end of the 30 days, more time will be provided as needed. During the training the period the employee will be paid an hourly rate which is determined during the hiring process.
